Roundtable of the Institute for Global Politics
“TürkiyeUkraine Military-Political Alliance
As a Factor of Security and Stability
in the Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian Region”

On June 5, 2025, in Hall 2 of the National News Agency “Ukrinform”, the Institute of Global Politics will hold a roundtable discussion themed “Türkiye – Ukraine Military-Political Alliance As a Factor of Security and Stability in the Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian Region”.

In the context of the United States’ de facto giving up global political leadership, Ukraine should pay more attention to finding reliable partners and allies to ensure victory in the war against the RF and preserve its independence and state sovereignty.

One of the most promising directions of Ukraine’s foreign policy in the sphere of regional security is cooperation with Türkiye, which from the very beginning of Russian-Ukrainian full-scale war has been in favor of preserving Ukraine’s territorial integrity. President Recep Erdogan has repeatedly emphasized on this.

Türkiye and Ukraine have common interests in returning Crimea to Ukraine’s jurisdiction, and the Crimean Tatar factor plays an important role in both domestic and foreign policy of both countries. Therefore, the rapprochement between Turkey and Ukraine is quite natural and realistic.

The creation of a new military-political alliance in the Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian region can significantly change the balance of political forces, which in the near future will significantly influence socio-political processes not only in the region, but also in the entire global world.

The roundtable will discuss the problems of military, financial, economic, food and environmental security of the Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian region states in connection with the Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine; the prospect of creating a military-political alliance between Türkiye and Ukraine; problems of the Crimean Tatar ethnic group (citizens of Ukraine and Türkiye) and the Turkic peoples of the North Caucasus; de-occupation of Crimea and liberation of the enslaved peoples of the RF from Russian colonial dependence; the Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian region states’ participation in the creation of a new military-political alliance to address common issues in the sphere of international security.

The roundtable discussion will be held in Hall 2 of the National News Agency “Ukrinform” from 13.30 to 15.30 at 8/16, Bohdan Khmelnytsky St., Kyiv

The speeches will also be translated into foreign languages.
